Six Crazy Days!

Wow, what a crazy busy week. Its amazing how many things we have done in the past few days. If I didn't have pictures to prove it, I'm not sure I would remember that we did so much. In reverse order, here is a glimpse into our recent lives.
Words cannot describe all the craziness we saw on Monday at the Renaissance Festival. I have never been so I had NO IDEA that people dressed up from head to toe and took it so seriously. We went with our friends Laura and Jeff and we spent half the time there just people watching. We did of course also catch some shows and other live entertainment but I think we were more amused with the die hard patrons than we were with the festival itself. If you've been before, you know what I am talking about.

At one point we decided to sit down and watch a live stage show. There were hundreds of people in the audience but wouldn't you know that the minute they needed audience participation they beelined it for me. We were in the back and there were hundreds of people in front of us, but I was the lucky one to be dragged up on stage to be Maid Marian. I was a good sport and played along in the skit for the next twenty or so minutes. It made me famous and I was being called Maid Marian the rest of the day by passer-byers. Would you like my autograph? ha ha

My good friend Bambi had her high school BFF Cami in town this weekend and I was lucky enough to go spend a few hours with them. Cami is so sweet and I can definately see why Bambi loves her. I wish I could have spent more time with these girls, we had so much fun. We went shopping and we found these great 80's glasses that I absolutely LOVE. Next time we are coming to San Diego to see you Cam. Road trip Bam?

Cam, Am, and Bam..... ha ha
Can you guess what else we did this weekend? Hiking of course, duh! We hiked the Peralta Trail at the Superstition Mountains this weekend and I fell in love with it. The hike was harder than I thought it would be but it was so worth it. It is GORGEOUS once you get to the top. The hike is 6.5 miles roundtrip and let me tell you that we were dead by the time we got back to the truck. Of course, a few hours later we were already talking about doing it again. Next time we will take more time and not race to the top like we did this time though. If anyone wants to go, we are in, just say when.

If you haven't seen old friends in a while, here is what you do. Bake homemade cinnamon rolls and deliver them to their door unannounced. This is what we did on Friday night and it was tons of fun. We delivered plates of cinnamon rolls to people we hadn't seen in a while and got to catch up. If we missed you, we are sorry and we'll catch you next time. Even with a double batch we ran out too fast. If you want the recipe, let me know!

Speaking of old friends.... I am sooooo excited that my friends Tom and Deanna have moved back from Boise. They moved to Boise 4 years ago but I guess they missed me too much because they are back. I spent the day with them on Thursday and then we met up with Ryan for dinner at Oreganos in Scottsdale... mmm I love that place. I'm so glad you guys are back.. I've missed you!

Happy Birthday Ben! It was my brother Ben's birthday last wednesday and we went to the Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown Phoenix for dinner. We were lucky to have a few extra family members with us as well. Happy Birthday Big Brother!

Ben & his wife Rachelle and their kids, Max, Bryn, and Baby Lu.
